New Yahoo Music service unveiled

Yahoo Music was the No. 2 online music site in December, with 19.6 million unique visitors, according to research company ComScore. Time Warner Inc’s AOL Music was the top site with 24.6 million visitors, while News Corp’s MySpace Music ranked third with 17.2 million visitors. The new Yahoo Music-a major strategic shift for Yahoo.

The new version of Yahoo Music, unveiled on Monday, aggregates paid and free music services available on the Internet, allowing Yahoo users to access and interact with the services directly from the Yahoo site.

Yahoo Inc is partnering with other online music providers as the Internet giant tries a fresh approach to getting an edge in the evolving digital music business.

The move comes a little over a year after Yahoo announced it was shuttering its own paid-music service, and is in keeping with the company’s latest efforts to make Yahoo a more open service by integrating products and services developed by other companies.

Visitors to the Yahoo Music site will be able to select from a variety modules representing the Web’s disparate music sites, including free, radio-like streaming audio services such as Pandora.

After so much speculation, Director Saran announced that Bharadwaj will compose the music of Asal.

Saran also indicated there might be more changes in cast and crew members, which will be decided by the script and individual working style. Now,it is said that an erstwhile assistant of Nirav Shah will handle the camera for Asal. Vivek Karunakaran (Lakme India Fashion Week fame) will design the costumes and Vikram Mohan (of the famous Bounce salon) takes care of the hair styling.

Sultan-The Warrior making Involves 60 crore rupees

Reports indicate that so much of money has gone into the making of ‘Sultan-The Warrior’, as much a grand 60 crore rupees!
Superstar Rajinikanth will be soon be seen in an animated film Sultan The Warrior The film is being made under the banner of Soundarya’s Ocher Studios and the movie is rumored to have hi-end animation. The best part is the central character of the film Sultan who is an exact depiction of Rajini.
We all know that each shot in the film is actually shot with the superstar first and then the animation specialists work on it to bring a very satisfying natural look.

Never imagined that animation films would be so costly! The film has another highlight in the sense it is a multilingual film and is being made in eighteen languages.

Yavarum nalam casting Madhavan in the lead role is a real thriller and takes you to the edge on many occasions. This film is taken Very well. The main thing about this film is the music and the cinematography.
Madhavan did a splendid job. At first I though it was thriller after some time it was mixed with some comedy… oh not comedy but some mixed reaction. director done splended jobs. I was very happy to see this king of film after long time…
Main thing about this film is go with your friends and family and you surly enjoy it

Tendulkar, who is the captain of the IPL team Mumbai Indians said he is disappointed with IPL being held abroad.

“It is disappointing that IPL has been moved out of India,” Tendulkar said.

“We will miss playing in front of our supporters. It won’t be the same.”

Tamil Movie for Guinness records

Suresh, the hero in the movie, already has a number of records to his name and by completing this movie in just 12 days, he hopes to add one more to that list
Suresh Joachim and Andrew Raymond are eager about their forthcoming movie, especially because they hope it will get them into the Guinness Book of Records!.

The launch of the movie will be graced by Chief Minister of Pudducherry, V. Vaithilingam, shooting will commence on April 13, and it will be screened on the 25th of April. The movie’s cast includes Meera Jasmine, Vivek, Suman, Bose Venkat, Rajiv, Shravan and Alex Thyagu. Deva will compose the music and V.T. Vijayan will handle the editing.

“According to the rules governing entry to the Guinness, the title of the movie cannot be revealed till the film hits the screens.
Hope that the fastest movie will go places and win critical acclaim internationally. A team of 200 artists, technicians and management experts will be involved in the making of the film.

Gandhi memorabilia back home

It is a great moment of pride for every Indian that finally the personal belongings of Gandhiji have been won in an auction by Vijay Mr. Mallya and the same are being brought to India.

Mr. Mallya, who was among 40 registered bidders, including several Indian Americans, was ready and went up to a whopping $1.8 million to clinch the deal.

The auction of Gandhi’s memorabilia in New York ended on a triumphant note for India as business tycoon Vijay Mallya put in a bid of $1.8 million, winning not only the five heritage items Gandhi’s steel-rimmed spectacles, a pair of sandals, a Zenith pocket watch, an eating bowl and a plate were put under the hammer but also gushing praise from Indians young and old…

Mr. Mallya said”I will always have the emotional satisfaction of having bought them and gifted them to the government of India,”

Tushar Gandhi, the great grandson of the Mahatma said “I am delighted, absolutely delighted,”

Mr. Mallya wants to gift the memorabilia to the Indian government, Mahatma Gandhi had appointed the Navjivan Trust as the sole heir of his personal belongings through a will registered in 1929.

It will take a while for the Gandhi memorabilia to come back home. The US justice department has asked the auction house to hold the lot for two weeks pending a resolution between the new owner and the US and Indian governments.

A.R. Rahman has created history by winning two Oscars and made India proud. This is the first time that three Indians are receiving Oscars in the same year.

  • Its party time for Slumdog Millionaire. it has won eight awards, including Best Director, Best Music and Best Picture. What an achievement. What a night. The whole cast and crew is up on high. Jai Hindi!
  • Best Actor Sean Penn for his role in Milk.
  • Best actress goes to  Kate Winslet for The Reader! She breaks the 13 year curse and is justly rewarded for her fantastic work
  • Best Director goes to Danny Boyle for his Slumdog millionaire. He jumps for joy (literally), and with good reason.
  • Best Foreign Film is Departures, a Japanese film.
  • Jai Ho has won the Oscar for Best Song! Two Oscars for India’s finest modern musician! What a night to remember. a classy, gracious acceptance speech from Mr Rahman. Well deserved. You’ve made all of India proud.
